Maxi 2024 Routes to be Announced next year
2023 Routes Below
75km, 45km and 30km Routes
75km
We finally did it! This year we can proudly introduce, what we feel, is perhaps the best possible sub-100km route in the Cape (if not SA).
This route has been 5 years in the making and we would like to thank Cape Nature for the co-operation in allowing us the use of the Assegaaiboschkloof / Bergriver Neck access point to Jonkershoek.
This does mean that you can expect a tougher day on your legs, with 4000m total elevation - it is completely worth it though!
...and we have added that extra hour on the cutoff time again!
45km
Our 45km is our only mostly unchanged route from last year and still presents an incredible introduction to entry-level ultra trail runners and a fast race for elites.
30km
We've intentionally grouped our brand new 30km with our ultras as we intend for this to be your stepping stone race from the 20km to the 45km and beyond. The 30km will start at Banhoek Chilli Oil and finish at Hoërskool Stellenbosch and is a fast and runnable route.
What promise better Aid Stations, better Vibe and and even better Race Village Experience (more on this to come).
20km, 13km and 7km Routes
Our Sunday Funday is a thing of the past...but that's a good thing!
In 2023 all our races will be run on Saturday 30 September, which means you will have an even better and bigger vibe as you grow your love of trail running on our shorter distances.
20km
Definitely our shorter distance with the biggest jump in difficulty, with a good 200m+ increase in elevation from 2022.
The good news is that it's not a technical route and all climbs are undulating switchback trails or jeep track, so no steps or rocky inclines!
We won't enforce a strict cutoff so you can take it easy if the going gets tough.
13km
Also a slight increase in climbing, but not a technical route. Expect some new views that you won't be used to!
7km
This route should be great fun and a slight jump for runners used to flat 5km farm runs. A good challenge to up your game!
Bring the family to come and enjoy this route as a Saturday outing from the back of the pack.
