SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Due to the hazards that adverse conditions such as rain & flooding (always likely during this season) and veld fires (low risk in September) poses, there is always the chance that routes may diverted, the race postponed or even cancelled on the day.
If there is adverse conditions in the lead-up to the event (such as flooding), our first choice would be to reroute the race as we did in 2023.
The next option is to short course the route to avoid troubled sections.
Should there be a forecast of adverse weather in the lead up and over the event weekend, race organisers will, in consultation with safety personnel and experts on the conditions, make a decision on the hosting with the race.
In this case our first option would be to postpone the event.
